An incomplete Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy double-looped uckle (c. 1350-c. 1650). The pin is missing. This buckle is moulded at the front and flat at the rear. The oval loops are similar in size. At the front the outside edges have a scrolled vegetal design. The bar is triangular in cross-section. This buckle frame has a green patina with flecks of black lacquer. Length: 35.8mm; width: 28.6mm; thickness: 3.3mm. Weight: 6.05g. Similar buckles have been published (Whitehead 2003: 53). An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy trade weight (c. 1600-c. 1800). This weight is circular and flat and the sides are missing. The inner face has concentric grooves and a lathe centre mark at the centre. At 6 0' clock a stamped verification mark is in the form of a crown over a letter or symbol. The base has shallow grooved concentric rings and a lathe centre mark at the centre. This face also has filed adjustment marks. Diameter: 50.0mm; thickness: 4.1mm. Weight: 49.45g. This object is very worn with a green patina and may have been adapted for another use.
