Possibly a post medieval copper alloy mount or suspension point. Both faces retain remains of a corroded iron attachment. In plan it resembles a short broad arrow. The 'point' of the arrow has a tri-lobed perforation and the 'shaft' is where the iron corrosion is. One face is undecorated. The decoration on the other face consists of a flattened edge which is plain on the sides of the 'shaft' and toothed or crenelated on the bottom edge and on the sides of the 'point'. A copper-alloy mount of uncertain function but possibly related to dress, probably dating to the period AD 1200 to 1600. The mount is openwork and sub-rectangular in shape with four differently shaped perforations in the lower half. There are two tabs probably for attachment on the upper end of the plate. No clear parallels have been found for this object. The length is 55mm, the width is 42mm and the weight 28.25g.
