A sherd from the body of an early Bronze Age vessel, dating to the period c.2350-c.1200 BC. Hard, coarse fabric containing plentiful poorly sorted quartz pieces (<2mm). The outer surface and core are an oxidised orange-red colour while the inner surface is a lighter grey. The outer surface is decorated with bands of three and two parallel lines of small square indentations. A group of thirteen Roman pewter vessels was initially exposed during a detecting rally on 3rd September 2022, but as they were clearly a hoard group and in poor condition excavation was postponed until 20th September when conservators were available to help lift the whole group. A small pit was identified as the feature within which the vessels had been buried. Laboratory excavation and conservation was carried out by Norfolk Museum Services. A complete Roman faience 'melon' bead. It is cylindrical in shape with rounded edges to both faces. Parallel, deep, transverse grooves are positioned around the sides. A circular hole, c.11mm in diameter, runs through the middle, slightly off centre. It has a dark greenish-yellow patina.  See Guido (1978, 100, Types 21 and 22) and Crummy (1983, fig. 32.520-1). Worrell (2015) suggests a 1st to 2nd century date for most.
