A sherd from the rim of a Roman glass vessel. The sherd comes from the rim of a vessel c.17cm in diameter - perhaps a large open flask or more probably a bowl. The rim has been formed from a fold of glass (probably an inwards fold, although this is not clear due to damage). The glass is a translucent light bluish-green colour and has a metallic patina.
Because of the small size of the sherd, the original form of the vessel cannot be determined and as such only a broad Roman date is suggested.

A complete glass bead of uncertain, probably post-medieval, date. It is spherical in shape with a circular hole through the centre and is made from an opaque light blue glass. There are a few cracks in places on the outer surface.
When lacking specific diagnostic features and not from a secure archaeological context glass beads are difficult to date precisely as simple beads like this one were in use across multiple periods.
