Dark grey flint flake with broad striking platform and prominent bulb of percussion and bulbar scar, suggesting removal from a large flint nodule with a hard hammer such as a pebble. The flint is good quality and may most likely be of river gravel origin. A lithic implement of prehistoric date. The object is triangular in plan and is a light creamy brown colour. A copper alloy mount probably dating to the Roman period. The object is ciruclar in plan with a flat undecorated reverse. The front of the obejct is decorated with a raised moulded face, possibly depicting Medusa. The oval face has a rounded chin, full lips and a rounded projecting nose. A lead alloy spindle whorl of medieval to post medieval date. The object is oval in plan and slightly conical. In the centre of the object the perforation has an internal diameter of 9mm. Each face is undecorated. The object has a light brown patina. Dimensions: 29mm in length, 28mm in width, 5mm thick, 22.60g. Spindle whorls have reportedly been found in contexts dated from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period although the majority are typically dated broadly to the medieval period c.1100-1500.

A fragment of the stem of a clay pipe of post-medieval date. The object is tubular and is circular in cross-section. A central hole, with an internal diameter of 3mm, runs through the length of the object. Each end of the object terminates with a break. Dimensions: 7mm - width of stem, 3mm - diameter of hole, 23mm in length, 2.10g. Clay tobacco pipe stems are very difficult to date accuratly without accompanying makers mark or bowl. the internal diameter of the hole at 3mm converts to about 7/64" which would suggest that it is a late 17th to early 18th century stem.
