A flint waste flake or 'debitage' of uncertain age, likely neolithic. poor qualitiy, opaque, green flint with grey underside, ventral face has a low bulb of percussion suggestive of an early Neolithic date. Keel-shaped section. The dorsal face has a pointed rise at centre and centrally along its length, continuing into a "y-"-shape. Possible retouch along the left side on only one face, but unclear. Length 58.33mm, Width 42.86mm, Thickness 14.68mm, Mass 40.49g.

Possibly a contemporary copy of a coin of Gallic Mint I. Bust facing right with no beard, young and clean shaven, inscription illegible. Reverse type showing a collection of priestly implements used for sacrifice - Pietas Augustor. Inscription not visible, maybe worn or clipped? Page 22 Identifying Roman Coins - Reece/James Nos. 26 and 42. 13.42mm diameter, 1.38mm thick, weighs .99gramme.

A fragment of cast copper alloy socketed axe, dating to the Late Bronze Age - c. 1000 - 800 BC. Description: The fragment represents part of the socketed end of the axe and is unevenly shaped. Part of the rimmed collar for the socket remains. Just after the rim there is a side loop to help secure the axe to its handle. One half of a cast copper-alloy clog clasp dating from the late Post Medieval to early modern period, i.e. c. 18th century. The clog clasp weighs 1.28g and measures 19mm long and 9.88mm wide. Robust rectangular buckle of copper alloy with cast copper alloy pin. Square with an angled leading edge and indented pin groove centrally. Dating from 14-16th century. Bevelled outer edge on three sides of the top face and three bevelled inner edges to the reverse face - just leaving the pin bar unbevelled. Cast pin has collar and tapering sides.to the point. 30.17mm long, 24.86mm wide and 3.75mm thick.Weighs 9.93grammes.

A complete Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) to Medieval copper-alloy finger-ring (800- 1100). The object appears to have been made with two strands of copper-alloy wire twisted together to form a ropework hoop. However, it is possible that it has been cast in one piece. The base of the hoop, where the two strands are possibly joined together, is flat and narrow. The section of the ring expands from the thin base with the thickest portion being at the bezel, increasing from a diameter of 1.76mm to c. 6.44mm. Early Post Medieval copper alloy cast one piece single sharp-hooked tag circa 1500-1550 AD. This example has moulded relief and openwork. A chequered lozenge (possibly a pinecone) within an engrailed edge, with a collar at the juncture of the plate and hook. The hook has been bent slightly more open. 39.66mm long, 16.49mm wide, 2.21mm thick, weighs 2.96grammes. Read Hooked Clasps and Eyes No. 402 page 104 is almost identical.

An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy composite strap-fitting or belt end, being one half of the original (c. 1350-c. 1450). This strap-fitting is roughly shield shaped with the narrow end having a protruding round knop and the wider end having two similar circular shaped inserts which may be purely decorative. Fragment from a copper alloy Medieval Pursebar, being the central boss from which arms normally protrude to each side, but which have been broken off. Circa 1450-1500 AD. This central boss is drilled and would have had a swivelling circular suspension loop. The sides are decorated, one side with one criss-cross and the other side with two criss-crosses. It measures 25.59mm long, 15.93mm wide and 12.43mm deep. Weighs 16.11grammes. A similar example to this boss is shown in Read Vol. 1 2001 No. 914 page 132.
