A fragment of a Roman, wheel-turned, Samian ware bowl dating to the period AD 150- 250. Description: The sherd comprises more than 1/3 of the base of the bowl and its foot ring, plus a section of the wall and rim. The centre of the bowl rises to a peak where there is the end of an impressed lozenge with the makers mark _ISF. The fabric has no visible inclusions and is a sandy pink colour with glossy orange slip. There is wear to the extremities and edges where the surface is matt and dull. A complete cast copper alloy single loop buckle dating to c. AD 1250 - 1400. It has an ornate outer edge with four transverse grooves on the outer edge of the loop, creating two large outer lobes with knops and two narrow bands with a larger lobe in the centre. The pin is still in place, a simple section of sub circular wire, wrapped around the narrowed, off set strap bar. The back of the buckle is plain and flat 2mm thick. It is 15.65mm in length, 12.76mm in width and weighs 1.52g.

Three very similar copper alloy symmetrical belt mount of Post-Medieval date (AD 1500-1700). They were found in the same field/area and although not identical, two are very close and the third is just slightly larger. The object is ovate in plan and concave-convex in section with a single central integral lug. The lug is square in section. There is no clear indication of a decorative pattern retained. An early Medieval Class A single sharp-hooked tag. Circa 7th-early 12th century. Copper alloy, possibly cast. The attachment end is bifurcate and thinner than the hook end at 2mm thickness for the first 6mm of length, with the attachment holes filled with corroded metal. The hook end is broken off at the tip but the shaft is curved beak-like and of tapering thickness and form - 3.26mm thick. 9.8mm wide, 20.85mm long. Weight 1.54g. An incomplete post-medieval (1500-1700) copper-alloy asymmetrical belt mount with remains of two integral spiked lugs to the reverse. The asymmetrical plate is formed of an isoceles triangular in shape with a lozengiform knop (5.1 mm wide) extending 9.83mm from the apex of the triangle. An incomplete late Medieval iron shoe buckle, dating 14th-15th century. The buckle is circular in both profile and section, with the pin attached around the frame of the buckle. Similar buckles are illustrated in Egan & Pritchard (1991, 57) where they are described as shoe buckles and they were excavated from contexts dating late 14th - early 15th century and in Egan (2005, 34) dated 1650-1700, however this is described as residual. A fragment from a cast copper alloy crotal bell comprising a portion of the lower hemisphere, which is approximately a quarter of the whole bell. The lower half is decorated with the 'fish-scale' pattern with overlapping moulded semicircles. The top of this bell appears to have been plain, but there is not enough to form an idea of the pattern if there was one. The base is sub-circular with a diameter of 12.39 mm x 13.89 mm. The base of the cone is slightly concave and the apex is flattened, with a possible impressed letter 'S' or figure '8'. An incomplete cast copper-alloy double-loop oval buckle of post-medieval date (c.AD 1550-1650). Description: Just over one half of the buckle remains. There is a spherical knop on the centre of the outside edge and a lobed knop at either end of the strap bar. The buckle's pin is missing. Measurements: Length: 33.29mm to broken second loop end, 28.26mm wide. Weighs 5.19g. Discussion: A similar example is illustrated in Whitehead 2003, p.62, No. 371 which dates from AD 1550-1650. An incomplete silver short cross penny of Henry III, probably Class 5c Issued during the reign of John (1199-1216) and probably minted in London by the moneyer RAVLFc. 1204-1209. Obverse depicts a crowned bust with five pearls to the crown and 2 hair curls with pellets either side. The beard of the bust is made of strokes with a single pellet in the bottom centre.
