An incomplete Early Medieval copper-alloy strap end dating to the mid eighth to mid tenth century AD. (AD 750 to 950). The strap end is tongue-shaped in plan with the remains of a bifurcated plate visible on the underside at the attachment end and a rounded terminal at the other. The upper surface of the strap end is decorated with an incised motif which is difficult to discern due to wear and corrosion. A copper-alloy hooked mount, possibly a baldrick fitting dating to the seventeenth century AD. The mount comprises a D-sectioned body which is cruciform in plan. The body possesses a central circular perforation filled with iron corrosion products. On the underside of the body, there is a small circular depression surrounding this perforation. At one end, there extends a bifurcated terminal, at the other, a D-section hook which is bent back on itself. The mount measures 32mm in length, 14mm in width and 2mm in thickness.

The matrix face is circular in plan with a tapering fluted handle, terminating in an oval suspension loop with circular perforation. The matrix itself has a central motif comprising a shield enclosed within a circular groove and a circumferential legend, currently illegible. The seal matrix face has a diameter of 19mm and the seal itself measures 23mm in length. It weighs 9.49g.

One of the extensions possesses a circular perforation. The other appears to be broken. The upper surface of the object is decorated with a central raised floral motif within two incised concentric circles. An incised meander pattern runs the length of both extensions. The underside of the object is plain. It measures 43mm in length, has a maximum width of 24mm, a thickness of 2mm and weighs 6.57g.

A complete copper-alloy swivel strap-fitting of dating to the period c.AD 1100 to 1500. The fitting comprises two trapezoidal attachment loops with oval piercings. The upper surface of the bar is decorated with horizontal ribbed decoration. One end of the bar is broken. The other extends to form a figure-of-eight terminal which sites almost at right angles to the bar. Read (2001) illustrates a similar spur on page 65, fig.41, no.501.
