A possibly incomplete or broken and complete copper alloy object of uncertain date, the metal and patina suggesting a late Iron Age or Roman date (100 BC - AD 410). The object consists of an oval section (20.7x16.7x8.2mm), its shorter ends truncated. In cross-section it is pentagonal/ triangular, with a flat underside and short vertical sides (c.2mm high) and a central ridge to the front, the sides sloping to either edge from this point. A late Iron Age or Roman (100 BC - AD 300) copper alloy and enamelled (or possilby glass-inlay) unidentified object, possibly a harness or cart fitting. The object consists of a flat, decorated and red-enamelled plate with a tubular attachment cast as one to the reverse.
The plate is a rounded tear-drop in shape with an oval flanking the edge at either side of the pointed end.
