A fragment of Late Roman (AD 300-450) copper alloy openwork military buckle plate of Hawkes & Dunning (1961) type IIA.
The object consists of a rectangular plate with three rectangular projections to one side. All breaks are worn. The rectangular plate has two surviving external edges, joining at a right-angle. In cross-section it is an elongated D-shape, the underside being flat. The edges to the front of the plate are slightly chamfered. A copper alloy plate from a medieval composite strap-end, probably of the type with forked spacer and dating to c.1250-1450. The plate widens from an angled tip c.7.2mm wide to the opposite end (8.9mm wide) which has a 1.6mm diameter central piercing for an attachment rivet, now missing. Two lines of opposed punched triangles flank the edges, the bases of the triangles facing each other. A light brown concretion adheres to both the front and reverse surfaces. The object measures 24.1mm in length, 8.9mm in max.width, 0.5mm in thickness and weighs 0.37g.

An early post-medieval copper-alloy strap fitting from a sword belt hanger, dating to the period 1500 to 1700. It consists of a incomplete hooked plate.The strap fitting is missing its hooked end and has broken across a rivet hole. Originally this would have been one of a trio of plates, which would have hung from a mount with three suspension loops. In turn, scabbard straps would have been attached to the plates.

An early-medieval silver sceatta of Secondary Phase Series E (Variety C-related, sub-variety g), dating c.720-40, probably minted in the Netherlands. Ref: Metcalf and Op den Velde 2009: 49.
Obverse: Quilled crescent coiled right, pellet head enclosing three bars, cross pommée and chevron.
Reverse: Beaded standard with V X .V. .I. in the angles, around central annulet. Possibly a blundered form of TOTII or VIC.

A lead alloy 'Empire' lower dental impression tray stamped C.ASH & SONS ENGLAND on the handle and dating probably c.1900-1914. It is U-shaped in both form and cross-section, the flat sub-rectangular handle projecting from the base of the U. This is pierced, with C.ASH & SONS around the top half and ENGLAND around the bottom half of the piercing. Beneath is stamped '26'.
The inside surface of the tray has indentations close to both ends forming a short line of curving lines with stamped triangular punch marks above.
It measures 84.8mm in length, 71.1mm in max.width, 19.3mm in height …

A fragment of post-medieval tin-glazed London Delft earthenware tile, dating to the late 17th century. The background is a white-ish grey/ blue with detail picked out in thin and thick blue lines. Although smooth to touch, the glazing survives in patches only.
The decoration takes the form of a central S-shape (outlined by two thin blue lines). Between the central and lower curve are two vertical thin lines with an annulet to either side. A fragment of post-medieval tin-glazed London Delft earthenware probable plate, dating to c.1660-80. All breaks are old and worn.
The fragment depicts the lower part of a tunic, the upper leg, top of boot and part of cloak of a standing figure, presumably male. The inside line of the second leg is visible flanking one of the breaks. The outline of the figure and all further outlines and embellishments are brownish-purple in colour, as are the boots. The background is white/ off-white. The glazing now has a crazed appearance.

Two handle fragments and a base sherd of late medieval (1400-1500) earthenware. The fabrics are light in colour with quartzite inclusions.
The strap-handle measures 61.7x88.2x13.7 mm and weighs 74.7 g;
the base sherd (with thumb impressions) measures 38.1x45.7x11.9 mm and weighs 17.6 g;
the tubular handle measures 115.1mm in total length, 55.2x 55.1x11.9 mm (upper length, width, thickness) and 19.1x19.8 mm (lower length, width) and weighs 121.0 g.

Four handles, three rim sherds, two base sherds, two feet (probably from a tripod pipkin) and one body sherd of post-medieval glazed earthenware, dating to c.1600-1800. The fabric is sandy earthenware, orange in colour with micaceous and quartzite inclusions. The glaze are shades of orange, green and brown. The largest sherd measures 68.1x111.8x17.2mm, the smallest measures 36.6x52.82x13.3mm. One rim sherd has rouletted decoration and is possibly of 19th century date.
The sherds collectively weigh 712g (to the nearest 2g).

An incomplete medieval (1300-1400) floor tile, with three of its four corners missing (old damage). The fabric is earthenware and orange in colour, with numerous small quartzite inclusions. A fragment of a late medieval (1400-1500) earthenware costrel, consisting of part of the body and the spout. Patches of dark-green speckled salt glazing is visible to the outside of the spout, which has crenellated edges (formed from finger/ thumb impressions). The fabric has numerous small, dark, quartzite inclusions and is off-white in colour.

A Roman (AD 43-410) rim sherd of colour coated ware, the fabric pale/ pinkish in colour and slightly greasy to touch; several large inclusions have eroded out. The colour coating is dark brown and on both inside and outside surfaces. The rim projects in a curve from a deep groove flanking the edge of the vessel wall. Three base sherds and two rim sherds of c.17th century Hampshire/ Surrey border ware. The fabric is white/ pinkish in colour with very small quartzite inclusions; the glaze is green in colour and on the inside surface only, except for one of the base sherds where the glazing is both to the outside and inside surfaces.
The largest sherd measures 48.3x 66.8x8.3 mm, the smallest 20.9x35.1x6.2 mm. The overall weight of the five sherds is 80.5 g.
