This copper alloy strap end is 42.08mm long, 9.08mm wide at its widest point, 2.78mm thick and weighs 3.77g. It is subrectangular in plan, tapering to a point and semicircular in section, with a distinct bow. The reverse, flat face of the strap end is undecorated, though there are traces of gilt by the attachment end. The front face of the strap end is essentially plain, but there is moulded decoration at the terminal end. This copper alloy strap end is 35.6mm long, 10.02mm wide at its widest point, 1.76mm thick and weighs 2.47g. It is suboval in plan, tapering into a pointed end. One face of the strap end is decorated with three incised 'X's in a row, which have a punched dot spacer between. This design is then surrounded by a crude border of punched dots. This backed knife has been made on a thermally fractured flint. It is 51mm long, 34mm wide, 12.4mm thick and weighs 22.64g. The use of thermally fractured flakes did not occur until the late Neolithic, but this flake is more likely to be late Bronze Age or Early Iron Age in date.

Fragment of Roman, copper alloy tumbler lock slide key,30.16mm long, 22.04mm high, weighing 18.30 grammes. This fragment represents the head of the slide key, rectangular in plan, it had six teeth, three of which are missing, one is broken in half and two are intact, set on a straight bit. The handle is lost, though there is a small subcircular lug on the headplate where it has broken off. As commonly made in copper alloy as iron, a good, though smaller, parallel can be found in Crummy, 1983, the Roman small finds from excavations in Colchester, 1971-9, page 126, fig.140, number 4150.

27 pieces of pottery sherds.Bulk weight is 703g. Diagnostic pieces include two rims of CAM form 268, c.AD125-250 (Hull, 1958, Roman Colchester, page 284, fig.119), a rim from a late Roman flanged bowl and a piece of 4th century Hadham ware. Therefore this represents an assemblage of late Roman pottery.
