Reverse type depicting Salus standing left feeding snake rising from altar. Mint of Rome. Cf. RIC III no.843 passim for the possible type.

A worn and pierced copper-alloy Roman sestertius of Antonine or Severan date, possibly of Marcus Aurelius (AD 161-180), although perhaps Septimius Severus (AD 193-211), dating to the period c.AD 161-211. Unclear reverse type possibly depicting a standing figure? Probably mint of Rome. The coin has been pierced, with a circular hole close to the edge of the flan above the bust when viewed from the obverse.
