An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman brooch. The wings are semi-cylindrical with perforated wing caps at each terminal. The caps are incomplete. The axis bar, spring and pin are all missing. One wing is decorated with a circular perforation. The bowhead is hump-like in profile and is oval in section and this section shape continues down the bow tapering to a blunt point. The foot is from a cast copper alloy cooking vessel. The foot is a ‘hoof’ type. In plan it is an elongated rectangle, with a broken upper edge which is a sub ‘j’ shape in plan. In profile the reverse of the leg is straight with a bulbous ‘hoof’ protruding on the outer face. The lower portion of the leg is sub semi-circular in section and is decorated with vertical grooves defining a ‘hoof’. Above this section is a transverse collar. A cast copper shield shaped harness pendant. In plan the pendant is a shield shape with an integral lug which originally was a loop when complete protruding from the centre of the upper edge. The decorated face has a chief with uncertain decoration on it. Below the chief there is possibly an eagle. The reverse of the pendant is undecorated. A cast copper alloy cooking vessel leg/foot. The foot is, in profile, a quarter circular from which the leg extends. The leg is rectangular in profile and plan with a broken upper edge. The break is not a recent break. In section the leg is sub-trapezoidal. The surface is abraded and has a mottled mid green coloured patina. An unidentified cast copper alloy object. The object is a sub-oval in plan and has an off-centre circular dome which is decorated with radiating ridges. The object is an unidentified cast copper alloy object. It is a oval sectioned rod, with one terminal having a slight flange, possibly due to being hammered. The opposite terminal has been flattened becoming trapezoidal in plan and triangular in section. It narrows towards the outer edge. There is a trace of a heavy dark green patina. Otherwise the surface appears to have been over cleaned, therefore more detail of the surface cannot be described. It measures 52.23mm long, 11.21mm wide and 6.22mm thick. It weighs 10g. An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman Birdlip type brooch. The brooch head, in plan is semi-circular on the reverse and, in profile, is domed.
