Possible Post Medieval (16th century) chafing dish rim or trivet: The copper alloy chafing dish rim is fragmentary and is asymmetric in plan. The fragment has a vertical rectangular protrusion which is sub-rectangular. In section it is trapezoidal. One edge of the projection is vertical, the other, at the mid point is angled at 45 degrees. The lower edge is a broken edge, but not recently. The interior has a horizontal ridge with a smooth interior of the vessel. The exterior has no moulding and has horizontal striations over it. Medieval seal matrix, of Medieval date (c. 1300 - c.1400 AD). The copper alloy seal matrix has a sub-oval die, with a tapering handle. The handle has a hexagonal cross section, and terminates with a trefoil suspension loop, with a collar below it. There are no marks on any of the six sides to aid orientation during use. Post Medieval cloth seal: The lead cloth seal is composed of a sub-circular disc, which has an integral flattened stud on the reverse. On one edge there is a fragment of a ribbon which would have originally lead to the second disc, which is missing. The outer surface of the disc has a prominent 'A' with an annulet below the cross bar, with an annulet either side and above the A. The surface of the seal is oxidised forming a cream coloured surface. It measures 23.78mm long, 18.90mm wide and 3.52mm thick. It weighs 6.37g. The strap bar is a rounded trapezoid in section amd slightly narrowed. The buckle surface has a dark green abraded surface. The buckle measures 12.33mm in length, 16.27mm wide and weighs 1.27g. Egan and Pritchard (2002) date a similar shaped buckle, No. 350, to the late 13th to 14th century.
