A single looped oval buckle with integral forked spacer, cast in copper alloy. The buckle frame has a triangle lip projection where the terminal of the pin would have rested. The pin recess sits in-between the forks of the spacer, on the strap bar. The pin survives. Both prongs remain. The tapering prongs of the forked spacer have a step cut into the copper alloy. This stepping occurs on the inner edges of the fork. The front of the oval buckle has a chamfered edge, but the fork and the reverse of the oval buckle are flat and have squared edges. The metal has lost most of its original surface and the metal is a mid brownish-green colour and is pitted. This type of buckle dates from circa 1350 – 1450. Parallels for this type of buckle can be seen in Whitehead, p20.

Buckle Meols Type 10. A cast copper alloy single looped oval buckle. The buckle has two very prominent lobed knops flaking two collars and a groove. The buckle has moulded surface decoration. The strap bar is narrow and off-set. The reverse is undecorated. It is complete apart from the pin, which is missing. The metal is a dark greyish-green colour. These buckles date from circa AD 1250 - 1400. Parallels for this type of buckle can be seen in Whitehead, 2003, p22.

A cast copper alloy double looped buckle frame. The buckle frame and strap bar survive intact, but the pin is missing. Neither loop of the frame has a pin recess. The reverse is undecorated and flat. The metal is a mid greyish-green colour. These buckles date from circa 1350 - 1650. Parallels for this type of buckle can be seen in Whitehead (2003), p53 and Egan (2005), p35, Fig.17.

A cast copper-alloy single looped rectangular buckle frame. The strap bar is narrowed and offset. Each side of the frame is decorated with a small transverse ridge at either end. The front edge of the frame is slightly wider than the bar, and is expanded to form a wide flat area decorated with incised transverse grooves, one on either corner and three in the centre. The pin is missing. The metal is a mid brownish-green colour. Meols type C (Griffiths et al 2007, 96). Similar buckles have been found in contexts of c. 1350-1400 in London (Egan and Pritchard 1991, 96; fig. 61).

The intact bow and pin are bent slightly and at the same angle. The flat, straight-sided bow tapers to the very narrow and pointed foot and is decorated with a column of close-set square and rectangular stamps down each outer edge. The incomplete, solid catch-plate is very thin. Plain diminishing bow with no outward curve. The spring has four turms and is has an internal chord. Light green patina.

Copper-alloy zoomorphic brooch in the shape of a hare with a naturalistic outline and dating to the 2nd century AD. An incomplete Roman copper-alloy circular Disc brooch. The central, circular setting is missing and is surrounded by an intact and raised copper-alloy flange. At the centre of the central recess there is a copper-alloy concentric moulding or dimple and there are traces of enamel of indeterminate colour surviving. There is a raised copper-alloy raised border at the outer edge and in the area between these borders there are curving stamps with traces of gilding surving. The pierced D-shaped lug would have held the missing sprung pin. The short, deep catchplate is bent and has a return.
