Cast copper alloy strap end of 11th century date. The object is a Thomas Class B, Type 6 animal-headed strap end. The zoomorphic terminal of this item shows an angular head of an animal with distinct eyes, ears and snout. The animal seems to have something in its jaws, or perhaps it has its tongue out. Behind the head, the strap end widens very slightly. The upper plate of the strap end has broken at the rivet (still intact), while the lower part of the strap end is complete.

A copper-alloy double-edged and tanged knife dating to the late Bronze Age, c. 1100 BC-800BC.
The knife is largely complete, with a flat rectangular tang with a circular perforation to take a rivet to attach the knife to a handle. The tang expands to the object's maximum width at the shoulders/base of the blade, when then taper to a point. The blade itself is a flat hexagon in section. The blade is undecorated with the exception of scratches, and the edges are still relatively sharp.

The object is a piece of slag of uncertain date. More specifically, this object is tap slag; it was formed during the smelting process when it became necessary to empty the furnace to keep the channels clear. This slag was removed by tapping the furnace, causing it to run out from a hole at the base of the furnace while it was hot. This forms the characteristic ropey-looking surface. Cast copper alloy ansate brooch of the middle to late Early Medieval period, of Weetch's type II.Aiii. The bow of the object is D-shaped in section and the sub-circular, disc-shaped terminals are rectangular in section. The terminals have engraved cells showing an encircled cruciform shape. Cast lead alloy pilgrim's badge, possibly of Saint Brigid. the object depicts a haloed figure on the cross. The cross is decorated with a cross-hatch pattern. The figure appears to be clothed in a tunic that reaches to its feet; there is a belt depicted by four pellets at the figure's mid-section. The top arm of the cross is bent forward, with the end of the arm covering the bottom right of the figure's halo. Leaded copper alloy stirrup mount of the Early Medieval period. This object is sub-triangular. The openwork face of the mount is decorated with integrally cast raised quatrefoils, and the description of the object will begin with the upper section, just below the break. 201 Aldin Grange pottery fragments. Of the 201 fragments, 41 are diagnostic, including 20 rim sherds. Aldin Grange pottery was produced in the mid-14th to mid-15th century in what is now Bearpark Civil Parish. Evidence for medieval pottery manufacture in Durham county is not prolific, with Aldin Grange representing one of few relatively large-scale pottery works.

Cast copper-alloy seal matrix of post-medieval date. The object is conical and octagonally facetted; there is a loop for suspension at the top with the remains of an iron chain in the loop. The surface of the die, on the underside of the matrix, has been gilded, and has a well-defined pattern of criss-cross grooves. Despite the gilding, and the anonymous, impersonal nature of the pattern, it is still likely that this object is a personal seal matrix. A similar seal matrix can be seen on the database at
