An incomplete cast copper alloy zoomorphic D shaped buckle frame, of the Early Medieval period, dating from c. AD 1000 to c. AD 1100.
The frame is D shape in plan and oval in section. The crescent-shaped frame is in the form of an animal with a head at either end (one is incomplete), both of which would have bitten down onto the pin bar; only one of these survives. A complete, cast copper-alloy military harness mount. The mount is square with a median rib. This rib is flanked on both sides by a convex panel. The sides of the mount form a narrow ledge. On the recessed reverse is an integral rivet with a disc head.
This mount belongs to Nicolay's (2007), Type B6, pl. 73, no. 142.1.

Roman copper-alloy mount with integral rivet. The head is conical and undecorated, measuring 16mm in diameter. On the reverse an integral rivet projects from the centre. Its circular-section shaft is 4.6mm in minimum diameter and ends in a large integrally cast disc 12mm in diameter. The object is 11mm in total height. It has a pale green surface and weighs 4.8g.

Fragment of a copper alloy spear head dating from the Middle to late Bronze Age, about 1550 - 800 BC. The surviving fragment comprises the tip and partial length of blade. Both wings are complete from the tip to approximately half way down the blade. From this point both wings are abraded and damaged. In section the spear is lozenge. It has a narrow blade measuring 44mm in length and 11mm in width. The spear has a dark brown patina with frequent surface pitting. The breaks are very worn and patinated suggesting it broke in antiquity.

An iron age copper alloy cosmetic pestle dating to the period c 100 BC- c AD 300. The pestle is incomplete as it is missing the end loop. The pestle is a curved, oval-sectioned rod with a rounded tip. The loop was mounted on the top of the mortar and all that remains is a short section curving up at the end of the pestle and the section where the loop attached to the main rod of the pestle. The patina of the pestle is dark brown and it is pitted and accreted with corrosion.

A moulded knop is located to either side. The foot has two transverse bands. An incomplete catchplate is located on the reverse.

A base from a post-medieval Cistertian ware vessel (c. 1500-1650). The base is flat, circular, and has a dark grey, reduced fabric with frequent calcareous inclusions. A thick, dark brown/black glaze is visible on the basal edge and also on the interior. Sitting on top of the glaze on the interior is a large, irregular layer of what appears to be molten lead. WIthin this is an oval pellet of lead. The break of the vessel wall is smooth and appears burnt in places. It is possible that this vessel was used to melt lead.

Fragment of a late medieval Humberware jug (c.1300-1550). The surviving part is the upper handle join. The handle is a wide strap decorated with six grooves. A series of stab marks done with a pointed stick are visible on the upper surface of the handle. The wall of the vessel is reduced whereas the handle is oxidised. The vessel has a mottled green-brown glaze which has a rust-red margin. The sherd has abraded breaks.

A possible fragment of headplate from an Early Medieval radiate headed brooch. The headplate appears to have been semi-circular and flat. The perimeter is castellated. The headplate is recessed and decorated with a perimeter line of reserve metal. Two sub-triangular panels of reserve metal also survive. A lug for a spring survives on the reverse, apparently being one of a pair that held an iron spring. Iron corrosion is visible on the reverse.

A copper alloy quatrefoil mount probably of late Early Medieval date (1000-1100). The mount is flat and originally had four sub-triangular arms projecing from the centre to form a quatrefoil. Each arm has an oval aperture; two arms are incomplete. The surviving arms each have a copper alloy rivet at the terminal. The mount has a brown-red patina of a type often seen on 11th century metalwork.

An early medieval (1000 - 1100 AD), cast, copper alloy stirrup strap mount. The stirrup mount belongs to Williams' Class B, Type 1, Group 2 variant (Williams 1997). The mount has an openwork zoomorphic body though several of the apertures have corroded closed. The body is flat, trapezoidal, and has a projecting central head, somewhat mouse- or bat-like in appearance. To the left and the right of the head is a sub-oval aperture though these are now corroded closed. Above, to the left and the right, are two further projecting heads, though these are somewhat smaller in size…

An incomplete copper alloy early medieval stirrup terminal of zoomorphic form dating from c. AD 1050 - 1100. The terminal is subrectangular in plan and semi-circular in section. The terminal is in the form of an elongated animal head; at the top are two large moulded ears, both of which are crescentric. Below these are two large oval eyes, leading into an upturned snout. A semi-circular knop extends from the snout on either side, perhaps representing teeth or a jowel. The terminal has a reddish patina.

Fragment of hollow cast copper alloy, possibly a miscast item of possible Bronze Age date. The object is rectangular in plan and appears to have been a hollow rectangle in section. Only one complete side and two incomplete sides survive. The object flares gently along its length, and also thickens to a triangular section at the widest end. The interior is covered with black soot and charcoal deposits much like is often seen on late medieval and post-medieval cooking pot legs. Fragment of an early Roman copper alloy Headstud brooch. The upper half of the brooch survives. The head has rectangular grooved wings with a single integral lug on the reverse in the middle. Attached to this is a copper alloy spring with four coils to either side. The spring is held by an external chord and hook. The bow is rectangular in section, arched, and is decorated with a moulded ring with pellet in the centre, Below this is a vertical row of recessed rectangular cells. The brooch dates circa AD75-150.

A complete copper alloy chafing dish handle of Post Medieval dating (16th to 17th Centuries AD).
The handle can be described in two parts: the loop handle and the attachment. The loop handle is heart shaped with a flattened base. The base is rectangular in section and the frame is hexagonal in section. Filemarks are present on the front and back of the handle.
