A Roman copper alloy pin. The pin has a flat reeled head, below which are three faceted globular knops each separated by a reel. Each knop and reel tapers in size towards the shank. Below the final reel are four circular moulded bands from the bottom of which extends a shank of circular section. The shank extends circa 23.7mm and appears to be more or less complete. Treasure number 2017 T815: a post-medieval silver-gilt terminal, perhaps for a dress fitting such as a pin. The terminal is formed from two hollow conical elements soldered together. Each cone made from thin silver sheet, and decorated with filigree spirals, mouldings and knops in an architectural manner. Diameter at centre 11 mm, weight: 2.23g. Both ends have a small circular opening of circa 1mm diameter. The filigree decoration with its architectural elements echoes that on ball-headed pins and would seem to suggest a 16th Century date.
