Fragment of glass. The item has no complete edges, but it is flat on both sides. The glass is 2mm thick and all edges reveal fresh breaks. The glass is pale green in colour and has a buff patina. No inclusions are seen in the glass.
This item is difficult to date. It could derive from a flat-sided bottle, but is is perhaps more likely to be from a window pane, possibly even a stained glass window.

Record ID: LIN-5E28D1
Object type: WINDOW
Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Fragment of painted window glass. The glass is honey coloured with a golden mottled patina. The surface is decorated with a painted motif of perhaps a stylised leaf or sprig of foliage in a red-brown outline. The expense of such window glass at this time must indicate that it came from a high status building.
