An incomplete glass object, possibly a bead. The surface of the item comrpises one clear break, while the rest of the surface is irregular and pitted, thus rendering the identification of the original shape difficult. The glass is light blue in colour and contains small air bubbles. The dating of this item is problematic; glass beads were used especially in the Roman and Early Medieval periods.

An intaglio, possibly of Roman date. The intaglio is plano-convex and has a shallow rim around the base which indicates that it was once contained within a setting. The intaglio is translucent but has a yellow tint to it, possibly indicating that it is made of glass. The flat circular face of the intaglio has an uncertain motif carved into it. This item was discovered on the Romano-British settlement at Nettleton Top (Willis 2013), however the size, form, and motif of the intaglio is rather unusual for Roman. A fragment of a Roman glass vessel. The surviving fragment comprises the neck and all of the rim. The neck is circular in cross-section, short (circa 17mm in length) and begins to flare into the shoulders at the break. The wide flat rim extends to a right angle from the neck. The rim is circa 8mm wide (though varies slightly) and has an external diameter of 32mm and an internal of 13mm. The glass is a light green colour. A fragment of the body of a square glass bottle dating to the late first or second century AD. The fragment is right-angled and comprises part of the concave base. The glass is blue-green in colour and contains small trapped air bubbles. A fragment of a Type 2 Kilbride-Jones glass bangle. The hoop is made from translucent green glass with a blue and white chord moulding at the apex. The bracelet is sub-triangular in cross-section and curved in profile. The cord moulding has not been significantly filed down and stands out slightly in relief.

Incomplete glass phial. The bottle has a bulbous body with a concave base. The glass is colourless with a greenish tint. The neck is short and cylindrical and is broken just before the rim. One part of the upper neck starts to flare outwards suggesting that the rim would have been slightly everted. The diameter of the neck is 15mm, and its length is 11mm. The interior surface of the phial has a mottled, almost oil-like refractive patina.

A Roman melon bead made of green glass (circa AD 50- AD 200). A hole passes through the centre. The object was found on a field that has produced material suggestive of a sixth century Anglo-Saxon inhumation cemetery, and so it is possible that this bead was reused in the 6th century.

Fragment of a glass beaker, possibly dating to the Roman period. Only part of the rim survives. The rim is everted with a rounded side. The neck is much narrowed, but the wall is 6mm thick. The colour is turquoise. The form resembles some types of Roman glass beakers, but the glass appears much thicker than these; equally the glass appears to be very solid with few air bubbles or imperfections.

A seal from a glass bottle. The seal is oval and has in its centre a shield with a vertical sword. Lance Mytton has kindly provided the following information: The seal is likely to be that of the the Dymoke family of Scrivelsby, Lincolnshire. J.C. Walter's 'History of Horncastle' (1908) records a brass in St Mary's Church commemorating Sir Lionel Dymoke.
