An intaglio, possibly of Roman date. The intaglio is plano-convex and has a shallow rim around the base which indicates that it was once contained within a setting. The intaglio is translucent but has a yellow tint to it, possibly indicating that it is made of glass. The flat circular face of the intaglio has an uncertain motif carved into it.
This item was discovered on the Romano-British settlement at Nettleton Top (Willis 2013), however the size, form, and motif of the intaglio is rather unusual for Roman. The date is therefore unknown at present.
