A medieval copper-alloy rotary key dating c. 1200-1400.
The key is rather crudely made from a single sheet of metal. The terminal is in the form of a flat circular loop, which then extends into a shank of sub-oval section. A worn T-shaped bit extends from the shank. A pointed section of shank extends beyond the bit.
A number of very similar crude and simple rotary keys are shown in Egan (1998, 112), which he dates as from the late 12th - to late 14th centuries.

An early Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative, rear hook brooch. The wings are semi-cylindrical in section and both are decorated at their terminal with a simple vertical groove. The reverse of the wing casing contains four coils of a copper-alloy spring; the rest is missing. A rearward hook extends from the top of the wing casing in the centre.
