An incomplete medieval copper alloy buckle plate. The plate is rectangular, flat, and very worn. No decoration is visible. At the attachment end are two rivet holes; one is empty and the other contains a fragment of a copper alloy rivet. Two incomplete arms extend from the opposite end.

A cast copper alloy Medieval buckle dating to the 13th century. The frame would have been a rectangular or pentagonal loop The frame has a small triangular lip; the bar is missing. The frame has seperate dome-headed rivet on both surviving corners.
It is similar to CAM-A21243 of which the author notes that there are similar buckles from Meols (Egan in Griffiths et al 2007, no. 759) and Winchester (Hinton in Biddle 1990, no. 1129), the latter from a deposit dated to the mid to late 13th century.
