Object type: BADGE
Broad period: MODERN
County: Nottinghamshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A gilded lead object in the form of the bust of a youthful male, possibly a cherub. The object is probably a livery badge, though no fittings are visible on the reverse. The badge is flat and shows the figure facing straight on. He has curly hair and a rounded face with a similing mouth. The figure wears a Roman-style tunic swept across one shoulder. Along the bottom edge is a rope-like border as commonly seen on livery badges. The badge probably dates to the eighteenth or nineteenth century. The reverse is undecorated and flat.
