A near complete copper alloy Crotal bell of Post-Medieval date (AD 1550-1750). The object is composed of two hemispheres which are divided by a raised circumferential rib. There are two circular sound holes in the upper hemisphere. The loop projects from the top of the upper hemisphere. The lower hemisphere has two sound holes joined by a narrow slot. Surrounding this is a band of moulded pointed oval panels in a sunburst or flowerhead pattern. The object has a dark greenish patina and there is no makers mark.

A post-medieval silver penny of Henry VIII minted at Durham. The obverse depicts the King enthroned, holding a sceptre. Above the shield on the reverse are the letters TD for Bishop Thomas Ruthall. Initial mark a lis. First coinage, struck 1509-26. North no. 1776. The coin appears to have been pierced at the base of the throne (which equates to the right of the shield on the reverse).

A post-medieval copper alloy sheet metal mount or fitting, probably from furniture. The mount is asymmetrical and consists of a large, flat, fleur or leaf, with a slender leaf projecting below to either side. The tip of one of the leaves is missing, but all three have a circular rivet hole. The surface is decorated with incised ring and dot motifs as well as incised curved lines which emphasise the vegetal nature of the decoration.

A Post Medieval copper alloy book fitting. The object is made of a rectangular sheet of copper alloy which has a small tab at one end which curves rearward. The surface of the fitting is decorated with geometric and pellet decoration, probably punched or pressed. At the tab-end is a vertical row of pellets. Beyond that is a row of four lozenges, each with a pellet in the centre, and bounded at both ends with a small border of pellets. Another row of pellets is situated to the right of this. A Post Medieval copper alloy strap mount dating to the 17th century. The mount is in the form of an elongated acorn with a small knop at the apex. The mount is slightly plano-convex and has a pair of inward pointing integrally cast shanks on the reverse. A small piece of leather survives between the shanks.

A Post Medieval double looped buckle dating to the late 16th or 17th century: The frame is formed of two oval loops with a small moulding at each lip. An integrally cast central bar runs across the middle and extends slightly beyond the frame at both side. Attached to the central bar is an attachment plate formed of a rectangular sheet of copper alloy which has been folded over. Two rivet holes are located at the attachment end. An incomplete base sherd from a Cisterian ware drinking vessel dating to the 16th or early 17th century. The vessel is made from a hard, dark purple/brown fabric with pitted thick purple glaze on the exterior and interior. The basal edge is slightly proud of the main vessel wall. The vessel wall has deep turning grooves. The breaks are abraded. Linear marks are seen on the base where the vessel was cut from the wheelhead. Cisterian ware was made in a number of centres in the East Midlands, Yorkshire and the North West and was usually produced alongside coarser purple-glazed …

Nine complete lead shot dating from AD 1600 - 1800. The group is of variable in size and mass. They were found spread across the field and may not form a contemporary group. Two have surfaces that are very pitted and scratched (diameters 14 and 12mm). The others are smooth (diameters 13mm, 12mm, 10mm, 10mm, 10mm, 10mm, and 5mm. One of the shot (10mm in diameter) has a piece of untrimmed casting sprue. The smallest shot (5mm) has untrimmed casting sprue and bar.

A post-medieval copper alloy sword belt fitting dating to the 16th or 17th century. The fitting consists of an elongated hanger and a squat sub-triangular pendant. The hanger is made of one elongated piece of copper alloy, plano-convex in section, and folded over. The face of the hanger is decorated with a moulded zoomorphic decoration consisting of a large semi-circular plume at the top. The terminal of the tail is at the top and takes the form of a semi-circular, ribbed plume. A narrow collar is located next to this which then leads into a large sub-rectangular body.…

A near complete Post Medieval copper alloy book clasp, probably dating to c. AD 1500-1700. The object is made of rectangular plate which is mostly straight sided barring a flared attachment end, and a blunt, rearward facing hook. The flared edge is undulating, created through three triangular cut outs. Two circular copper alloy rivets sit at the centre of the flared end. A base from a post-medieval Cistertian ware vessel (c. 1500-1650). The base is flat, circular, and has a dark grey, reduced fabric with frequent calcareous inclusions. A thick, dark brown/black glaze is visible on the basal edge and also on the interior. Sitting on top of the glaze on the interior is a large, irregular layer of what appears to be molten lead. WIthin this is an oval pellet of lead. The break of the vessel wall is smooth and appears burnt in places. It is possible that this vessel was used to melt lead.

Fragment of a copper alloy leg from a cooking vessel or tripod. The foot is rectangular in plan and sub-triangular in section, having a pronounced central rib. The foot curves to form a flat rectangular base. The fragment has a deep red-brown patina and has patches of soot. Similar legs are known on copper alloy cooking vessels of late medieval and post-medieval date.
