A cast copper-alloy buckle frame and roller, dating to the Medieval period, about AD 1250 - 1350. It is of Meols type 11. The object has a single-looped D shaped frame, with bevelled sides. The thickened outside edge is circular in cross-section and is recessed for a roller, which survives. The roller is constructed from sheet copper alloy with a butt joint and has grooves along it. The strap bar is narrowed, recessed, and offset. The pin is missing and so is the plate.
Dimensions:

A complete copper alloy single loop, D-shaped buckle of Meols type 9, dating from AD 1250 - 1350. It has a bevelled frame, expanded and angled at the outer edge with a central pin notch, flanked by two ridges on each side. There is a narrowed and offset pin bar. The pin is missing. A Medieval copper alloy buckle, single loop, dating from AD 1300 - 1400. It is an elongated D-shaped buckle (stirrup shaped) with a collared knop on its outer edge, of Cassels type 1.5C. The frame is bevelled on the outer face. The bar is flat, recessed and offset. The pin is copper alloy wire looped round the bar. The buckle is 19.9mm long, 12.8mm wide and 3.4mm thick. 2g. The maximum width of the strap is 7.3mm.
This buckle can be compared to Cassels type 1.5C, and Egan and Pritchard (1991), no. 421, which is from a late 14th-century context.

A copper alloy incomplete Roman trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. Only the lower bow survives. There is a double collar above and below the acanthus moulding of three petals above and three below the central disc. The moulding does not continue on ot the back of the bow. The lower bow is triangular in cross-section and the catchplate curls to the left when viewed head uppermost from the reverse. The foot is discoidal with a triple moulding. The brooch is 41.1mm long, 9.1mm wide and 12.4mm thick. 4.9g.

A Medieval to Post Medieval miss-cast lead spindle whorl dating from about AD 1450 - 1550. It is of Walton Rogers form C2. It is biconical with a design of raised pellets on one face. The whorl is miss-cast with much of one face missing. The other face has faint crossed raised lines on it, and a large lump of lead projecting from the face. The whorl is 30.2mm diameter, 16.2mm thick and 39.1g. The central hole is 8.3mm diameter.

The sub-circular ring is hexagonal in cross-section and has a varying width across the frame. The object has a dark grey patina and there are visible filemarks. Measurements are; 26.6mm diameter, 20.6mm inetrnal diameter, 2.4mm thick and 2.7g.

Mounted at the square end is a transverse rectangular mount which is U shaped in cross-section. It is attached by a copper alloy rivet with a flat rove on the reverse. The remains of another rivet and rove survive at the rounded end. The object has a green patina and is undecorated on both faces. A copper alloy ring thimble dating from the Post Medieval period, about AD 1550 - 1600. It is an open thimble with a pair of ridges forming a border top and bottom. There is no visible seam. The pits are circular and neatly executed in a spiral that runs up to the right in 7 rows. There is possibly a maker's mark at the start of the spiral but it is too worn to be certain it is not a larger pit. The thimble has a smooth green patina. It is 17.5mm tall, 20.6mm diameter and 5.6g.

An incomplete copper alloy Medieval strap end, dating from about AD 1200 - 1500. Only one sheet of the strap end survives. It would have had a sheet spacer and a second plate as well, or perhaps just a second plate. It is rectangular in plan, with rounded shoulders at the closed end, flanking a cast knob perhaps in the form of an acorn. The knop is thicker than the plate. There is no evidence of rivets. The attachment end is incomplete. The strap end is 28.5mm long, 11.5mm wide and 1.9mm thick. 1.2g. Compare various types in Egan and Pritchard (1991).

There are two integral pointed mounting spikes on the reverse, both bent over to grip the leather. It is 16.8mm long, 14.7mm wide and 5.7mm thick. 1.8g.

The pin is rectangular in form and cross-section. It narrows slightly throughout its length from the loop towards the tip. The pin is moulded at the junction of loop and shaft with a simple raised collar. Measurements are; length 25.5mm long, 3.1mm wide and 7.2mm thick. 1.1g.

Probably IVNONI CONS AVG reverse type depicting a capreolus (a creature with anters and a beard) standing left. The coin is 14.4mm diameter, 1.3mm thick and 1.1g.
