A flint debitage flake of unknown date, probably Mesolithic to Neolithic (9000 BC - 2200 BC). It is formed on a secondary flake of translucent orange flint with cortex on the right hand half of the dorsal face. Strck with a soft hammer, it is oval in plan and D shaped in cross section, with two longitudinal removal scars on the dorsal face. The right edge is abraded - this may be extremely fine retouch which is short, sub-parallel and semi-abrupt. It is 26mm long, 15mm wide and 5mm thick. 1.93g.

A post-Medieval lead whirligig or buzz disc/wheel of possible 17th to 18th century date, about AD 1600 - 1800. This toy is a sub-circular disc which has a serrated outer edge and two string holes at the centre. There is some damage on one edge. The toy is 41.1mm diameter, 3.9mm thick and 43.2g. An incomplete copper alloy probable spur of post-medieval date, about AD 1600 - 1800. All that remains is part of the curved portion of the spur which would fit around the heel of the wearer. The fragment is D-shaped in section is broken before the end of the arm where there would have been a spur attachment to the leathers. At the other end is a moulded baluster shape before a patinated break. This is probably where an arm would have extended to form either a rowel box or prick spur. An incomplete, copper alloy Roman plate brooch, dating from AD 100 - 300. It has an oval body with a central, oval depression which probably once held a decorative setting, though only a greenish residue now remains. The reverse of the brooch carries the stubs of a single pin lug, pierced to take a copper alloy pin, and the catch plate. A small part of the pin remains in the lug. Hattatt suggests that the outer section was enamelled and the inner section carried a paste intaglio. No evidence of either remains. A fragment of an enamelled dragonesque brooch of Roman date, AD 75 - 175. The remaining portion consists of the central, slightly domed oval body, together with the stubs of the two arms. The upper side retains parts of a geometric design in red, blue and yellow enamel. There is a central, transverse row of yellow lozenges, flanked by two inward facing rows of red triangles. Other sections of blue and red enamel are also visible. The underside of the brooch is flat. The remaining fragment is 21.3mm long, 11.9mm wide and 3.3mm thick. It weighs 2.11gm.

A copper alloy strap fitting, probably of Roman or Early Medieval date, about AD 43 - 1100, consisting of a plate shaped like three conjoined ovals, arranged in a line, each with a central, circular perforation. From either end of this linear arrangement, and from beneath the junctions between the oval plates are narrow backwards projections. There is an integral external rivet projecting from centre of the flat base. The fitting is in good condition, with a smooth, dark green patina. It is 26.6mm long, 17.1mm wide and 3.5mm thick. An incomplete copper alloy seal matrix of pointed oval shape dating from the Medieval period, AD 1200 - 1400. It is very worn, both the central design and the surrounding legend being largely illegible. The central design is possibly that of the pelican in its piety. (compare SOM-3E3F02, which has a much better image). The reverse of the matrix carries the remains of a pierced suspension loop at one end, now broken away and largely missing. The outer edge is oval in cross-section and chunky, with boldly moulded animal heads at each end of the bar (beast biting bar type). A copper alloy Medieval buckle plate dating from about AD 1250 - 1500. The plate is rectangular, longer than the strap is wide, and is thickly gilded. The projecting hinges are mainly missing, as is the back plate. There are five rivet holes, one in each corner and one central, and four surviving copper alloy rivets with domed heads. The plate is slightly damaged and bent. It can be compared to SWYOR-6F5565, DUR-59E9B3 and published examples in Egan & Pritchard (1991) Dress Accessories. The plate is 25,8mm long, 10.1mm wide and 4.8mm thick. 1.68g.
