A very worn and corroded copper-alloy Roman nummus of Constantius I as Caesar, 'GENIO POPVLI ROMANI'. Mint of Trier (294-305 AD; Reece issue period 15). This coin has been pierced at 8 o'clock on the obverse, 9 o'clock on the reverse, possibly for conversion into a jewellery item in the early-medieval period.
