An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman plate brooch of composite construction, sometimes known as a gilded spoke disc brooch. Its upper face features two raised concentric rings which act as a border. Within this border are punched semicircles whose curved base abuts the inner ring. The conjoined punches give the effect of a swag pattern. The main field features a separate attachment consisting of a moulded annulet from which protrude six thin, semicircular bars, equally spaced, one is bent slightly; the lugs abut the inner ring.
