An incomplete medieval cast copper-alloy purse hanger. This is a three arched example formed of a large semicircle flanked by two smaller ones; one of the side semicircles survive, the second is incomplete. There are moulded cusps in the external angles between the arches, delineated by incised diagonal lines on the upper surface. The central arch has a closed top with a short prong at each end, within which an inverted keyhole-shaped opening. An incomplete Late Iron Age/ early Roman (AD 20-80) copper- alloy Colchester one-piece brooch missing the majority of the catchplate, the spring and pin. The wings are flat and rectangular. No decoration is visible on the bow which tapers towards the tip. Behind the wings is one coil of the spring and a forward facing hook. The majority of the catchplate is missing, a fragment survives.

A copper-alloy pot leg of Medieval to early post-Medieval date. The steeply-angled leg has a broadly oval cross section with slightly flattened sides. the foot is flat at the bottom and widens towards the tip. A parallel for this leg - suggested to be from a small cauldron, ewer or jug - was found in excavations in Winchester (Biddle 1990: 956/fig. 293, no. 3397), in a late 15th to early 16th century context. Another similar leg came from an early 15th century context in London (Egan 1998: 166/fig. 132, no. 459) and is recorded as probably being part of a tripod ewer.

A complete cast copper-alloy gilded medieval harness fitting with a zoomorphic terminal. The harness fitting is broadly oval in plan and broadly oval in cross section. The top of the fitting is 3.15mm wide and thickens towards the main body of the fitting (10.1mm wide) which has been curved inwards on itself on either end void which is 2.3mm wide at the beginning of the void. A cast copper-alloy medieval strap-slide with a pair of short pointed internal projections. It is sub-trapezoidal in shape with slightly rounded corners. The artefact has a sligh rounded projection on the outer face. The projections lie closer to the inner edge. A similar example can be found illustrated in Egan and Pritchard (1991, 234; ref. 1263) assigned to a late 14th-century context. This object has corroded to a dark-grey colour with small patches of off-white corrosion product.

The is an elaborate pelta shape in plan with a bifurcating terminal which curves towards the concave section of the pelta, one terminal is incomplete due to an old break at the tip of the pelta mount. The reverse of the mount has a large integrally cast rounded shank with wide flattened head that would have secured the mount to a leather strap.

A corroded and bent, plain copper-alloy sheet rivet which would have been used to hold repairs to a vessel in place. The artefact is sub-rectangular in form, having originally been broadly hexagonal. It have been folded in on themselves from the sides before being folded back, the folds protruding beyond the side, one side is incomplete. Similar examples found in Norwich tend to be found in post-medieval contexts (Margeson 1993, 92-93; refs. 574, 575).

An incomplete integral cast copper alloy handle lug, which possibly dates to the 13th to 17th centuries. The rest of the vessel is missing. In plan the lug in broadly square with a bevelled upper face, the reverse is mostly flat with a raised outer edge. In the centre of the lug is an oval perforation which has a maximum internal diameter of 7.6mm. A section of the vessel remains attached to the lug, it is 20.0mm in length and 6.7mm wide, a small fragment remains which is 11.85mm in length and 8.15mm wide.

An incomplete Roman copper-alloy bow brooch. The foot, catchplate and part of the bow of a cast copper alloy Roman bow brooch. The majority of the bow has been lost, the break is situated at the tip of the catchplate. In profile, the bow tapers towards the foot, it is broadly semi-circular in cross section. The foot is decorated with one horizontal ridge. On the reverse of the bow there is an incomplete catch plate.

An incomplete Medieval iron key of probable 14th-century date. The bow is incomplete and circular in cross section. The shank is broadly square in cross section 9.65mm thick. The simple bit has two clefts, 13.65mm and 4.85mm in length. The key is heavily corroded and is flaking.

An incomplete tinned copper-alloy Roman Hod Hill type brooch, dating from the mid to late 1st century AD. The head plate is incomplete and the pin is missing. A fragment of the head-plate survives, the bow projects from the head at a ninety degree angle, its upper surface is decorated with three shallow grooves, separated from each other by two ridges. A right-angled lobe, extends outwards from each of the two bottom corners of the bow. A transverse groove with basal ridge separates the bow from the foot, the latter of which has a flat upper surface, convex sides at the top and tapers…
