Copper alloy escutcheon or pendant probably of medieval date The delicate fitting appears to be near-complete (with a length of 24.6mm and a weight of 1.0g) and was suspended by an integral loop (8.4mm long, 2.9mm wide and 4.2mm deep), which has been coiled inwards to form the loop and projects to the front. The two silver items are both fragmentary: Fragment 1: a small rectangular piece of hack-silver, cut from a silver vessel. All four edges have been cut, and there is a hesitant transverse cut running inside one of the longer edges. Both faces of the silver are plain, and the fragment is flat. Maximum length 14mm x width 9.1mm x thickness 2.6mm. Weight 2.27g. Fragment 2: small 'pie-slice' fragment from a circular lid or vessel rim, with a plain bevelled edge. Roman copper alloy vessel lid The lid is complete and includes the hinge from the copper alloy vessel (with an overall length of 59.3mm, a width of 46.5mm and a weight of 36.7g). The surviving fragment from the body of the vessel is solid and is broken at both ends (with a surviving height of 20.5mm and a surviving width of 19mm).
