Iron Age copper alloy tankard handle of 1st century AD date The tankard handle is fragmentary, represented by one disc terminal and the fragment of the handle stem (with a surviving depth of 23.0mm and a weight of 37.7g). The terminal is oval (45.7mm wide and 40.5mm long) with moulded decoration. The decoration comprises a crescent at the apex with a raised border. The border at the top of the crescent edge of the handle terminal is now heavily-corroded and damaged. Late medieval lead alloy or pewter brooch, probably of 13th to 15th century date The cast brooch is near-complete, missing the pin and part of the outside of the frame (with a length of 33.8mm, a width of 30.0mm and a weight of 4.1g). The openwork brooch frame has a sub-circular central opening (16.4mm wide and 14.8mm long) around an zoomorphic openwork frame of D-shaped section (2.4mm thick). Earliest to Early Iron Age iron socketed axehead, probably of 8th to 5th century BC date The axehead is symmetrical in form and is incomplete, missing part of one face and side and is a small example (with a length of 88.6mm and a weight of 116.5g). The mouth appears to have been sub-rectangular (with a surviving external width and depth of 32mm and 27mm respectively and 3mm - 11mm thick). The cast brooch frame is near-complete but the pin is missing and the frame is comparatively insubstantial (with an overall length of 57.6mm, an overall width of 62.2mm and a weight of 10.6g). The oval hoop (58.8mm external width) is of flattened-oval section (3.4mm wide and 1.9mm - 2.4mm thick), widening slightly as it approaches the terminals.
