Early Medieval, late Anglo-Saxon copper alloy (or ?silver) strap-end of 9th century date. Metallurgical testing required to determine if silver. The cast strap-end is of Thomas' (2003) Class A, Type 1 and is near-complete, missing the attachment end (with a surviving length of 46.1mm and a weight of 7.1g). The attachment end was forked to accept the strap but has broken at the base of the split. Below the split is a solid collar (8.8mm wide and 2.7mm thick) with a transverse moulding. Roman coper alloy Disc brooch of 1st or 2nd century AD date The brooch is circular, with flat peripheral lugs and is near-complete, missing the pin (with a maximum diameter of 35.6mm and a weight of 7.9g). The missing pin was sprung and secured around a single perforated lug, and extends slightly on to the rear of the lug.
