Copper alloy handle terminal for a bowl or chafing dish. The frame of the handle is missing but would have been broadly U-shaped with a block terminal at either end of which this is one of the surviving terminals. This is oval in cross-section and has been shaped into zoomorphic dog head terminal with oval eyes, a slot behind for the ears and a narrowed snout. Passing through the length of the block is a central circular hole (7mm in diameter). see DENO-62CA2C for a similar example.
