A Neolithic ground and polished axehead. The implement has been extensively chipped and ground into a long elongated sub-oval shape in plan. The blade edge has a curved forward edge that has been ground and polished to form the cutting edge. From either side of the blade, the sides gently narrow to the rounded butt which is rounded with a pitted appearance probably where this section was not polished. The stone is a dark green colour with creamy speckles. The axe dates from between circa 3500 BC to 2100BC

The implement has been extensively chipped and ground into a long elongated sub-rectangular shape in plan that tapers from the cutting edge to the butt which terminates in a rounded point. The blade on the forward edge has been ground into an asymmetrical crescent, this is also the only section to have been polished. The stone is a dark green with an extensive creamy mottling. A probable Bronze Age stone shafthole implement dating to the period c.2100 - 1250 BC. The item is broken in half across the centre of the shaft hole, the remaining portion is sub-ovular in plan and tapers from a central shaft hole to a very narrow terminal (just 16mm wide) that is slightly rounded. The shaft hole is formed by pecking from either side this has created an hourglass effect when viewed in cross-section, 17mm in the centre of the shaft and about 34cms at the top of both sides. Carnelian intaglio, length 15mm, width 12mm, thickness 3mm, weight 0.74g. This is oval in plan. Engraved on the face is a male figure facing right, in his left hand are two ears of corn. Over his right shoulder is a lagobolon with a hare suspended on the end. This is Bonus Eventus the personification of a good outcome. The reverse is plain and the sides are bevelled. This is a small worn pebble that may have been used as a possible gaming counter diameter 13mm, thickness 5mm, weight 1.33g. Roughly circular in plan with rounded smooth sides. Similar examples made out of glass have been excavated from a grave in Stanway, Colchester. In the grave was discovered a board game which had been laid out with twenty four counters, twelve white glass counters on one side and twelve blue glass counters on the other. Stone spoon mould length 96mm, width 80mm, thickness 39mm. This is the top (cope) section of a two-piece spoon mould that has been carved into local mudstone. The mould has been broken in half, resulting in bowl and first 16mm of the stem remaining. The bowl corresponds with a fig shaped style (Ward Perkins, 1967) which was common from the 15th to 17th century. The centre of the mould has been craved to create a domed surface, this would form the top side of the finished cast spoon bowl. Polished stone axe fragment, length 31mm, width 39mm, thickness 20mm. This is a corner edge from the mid section of an axe, the corner has a rounded edge and is angled at about 120 degrees with both of the remaining edges being polished to a smooth finish.
