This is a lead alloy seal matrix that has an oval plate. On the reverse is a rectangular rearwardly projecting plate (14mm wide, 10mm high and 4mm deep). That has a circular hollow on the top right edge, this is probably forming the top of a shaft that would ring the height of the projection, unfortunately the lower edge is encrusted in mud which covers any exit of the shaft, although a small circular depression is viable on the lower edge that would correspond with the upper hollow.  This shaft may have held a binding cord or wire. On the face of the seal is a re…

A large, Post-Medieval to Modern pewter spoon. The stem is of circular section, terminating in a clean break. The bowl of the spoon is oval and has been flattened from its presumably concave shape. The spoon has suffered considerable damage; the end with the tip and one side becoming truncated: The end of the handle has broken away resulting in only about 20% remaining, the stem has also been bent back over itself down the side of the bowl.

Lead ampulla that has a circular chamber. A short rectangular neck would have been mounted on the top of the chamber, but this has been cut off in antiquity presumably to gain access to the contents of the chamber leaving a straight sliced edge. The circular chamber is decorated on one side with horizontal, slightly radiating lines that form a scallop shell motif. While on the other side is a circular hollow with a heart shaped knot, the knot is split into three sections by the laces, the top two sections are sub semi circular in shape and the bottom section is a sub diamond sha…

A small lead Medieval trade weight, probably dating from the 13th-16th centuries. The weight is shield shaped with an undecorated reverse. The front of the weight bears a simple cross motif, there are recesses in the angles of the cross that are more likely that results of casting flaws rather than heraldic elements relating to the cross. A similar example is illustrated by Egan (1998, 302) and a number have been reported on the PAS at KENT-0114C1 SWYOR-42C8B3, GLO-380875 and YORYM-9DA396.
