Silver annular brooch that has a circular cross-section frame with a constriction in one side for the pin. The pin is complete and made from silver, one side of which has been formed into a loop to enable attachment to the frame, a flanged transvers ridge decorated with stamped annulars and separates the loop from the main shaft of the pin. Brooches of this material, form and style of decoration are generally dated to c. AD 1200-1400 with various examples published in Egan & Pritchard (2002: 249-254). A post-medieval silver annular brooch dating to c.1600-1700. The brooch consists of a circular frame, that has a flat rectangular cross-section set at an oblique angle. A constriction at one side mounds the silver pin that is mounted to the constriction bar via a by a curved penannular loop terminal. Flanking the constriction are two transverse decorative groves on either side. A copper alloy Roman Initial T-shaped brooch. Tubular wings hold the pin axis bar, there is a slot in the centre of the wings at the rear for the pin, which is now missing. At the top of the head is the base of a now truncated upright standing loop. The remainder of the bow is undecorated except for a transverse band at the knee, below which the remainder of the bow is missing resulting in the loss of the catch plate.

A copper alloy Roman Large T-shaped brooch. Tubular wings hold the pin axis bar, there is a slot in the centre of the wings at the rear for the pin, only the top of the pin remains. The head of the bow has a central ridge with bevelled sides which runs down to a mounded knee, below the leg narrows with two rectangular cells on the front, a closed catch plate on the reverse and small knop foot on the bottom.

Copper alloy disc brooch which is made from a circular plate decorated with a raised central dot surrounded by curvilinear border forming a six pointed star motif that has roundels at each point, enclosing the whole plate is a raised linear border. The recessed exterior cell of the star would have been filled with light blue enamel, with small traces remaining. The recessed interior cell would have been filled with enamel, but no traces remain. On the reverse is the mount for the spring and the catch plate, both are truncated. This artefact dates to 80-250 AD.

Copper alloy Aesica brooch fragment. Originally this would have been a two piece brooch with a separate bow and spring mechanise riveted onto the top of a plate, the plate forming the main body and catch plate of the brooch. However only the plate remains, this consists of a lozenge shape panel above with globular terminals on the side points and a triangle panel below. At the top of the lozenge panel is a large rivet hole with a raised bevelled edge. below on the triangular panel is a moulded omega motif with a dot centre, the catch plate on the reverse is complete.

A silver gilt collet from an annular brooch. The collet is made from thin sheet silver that has been formed into a hollow box that is triangular in profile and rectangular in plan. A circular aperture at its apex would have held a stone. There are traces of the frame at the base of the collet and ruminants of forked branches which were soldered onto either side.

A copper alloy T-shaped brooch of 'initial' type. The brooch has cylindrical wings which hold the axes bar, a slot in the rear for the pin which is missing. There is a small crest at the top. The bow may have had recessed cells but wear and corrosion has removed most of the detail. The catch plate on the reverse is truncated. Copper alloy Thealby type brooch. The wings have a square front with a tubular mount on the reverse that holds the pin axis bar, there is rearwards facing slot in the centre of the mount for the pin, the pin is now missing. There is a small plate with a truncated loop on the top of the head. On the head of the bow is a moulded crest, the rest of the leg is truncated at the bows apex resulting in the loss of the catchplate.

Cast copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type, Lower Severn Valley), cf. Mackreth 2011, 5.a1.a. Plate 49. Length 47mm, width 28mm, thickness 17mm, weight 14.93g. Rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings which hold the spring support bar, the spring is made from eleven curls, the pin is missing. There is a crest that runs down the length of the head, this has a rearward facing hook at it apex that holds the external cord of the spring. The bow is plain and narrows towards the foot which is pointed. Hollow catch plate on the reverse. Date 80-120AD.

The bow is pain and gently expands to an expanded panel halfway down. this panel contains three cells of two opposing triangles and a rectangle in between. These cells would have held enamel but this is now missing. The leg the rapidly narrows to the foot, the catch plate on the reverse is truncated. Date 2nd century.
