A complete lead weight of Post-Medieval date c.AD 1600 - 1900. The weight is cylindrical in plan and profile. At one end is an inserted iron wire suspension loop. The weight has a number of dents, pits and scratches. Length: 40 mm Diameter: 17.5 mm Weight: 74 g Lead weights were in use over a very long period and are difficult to date with any certainty, and this could be anything from Roman to Post Medieval. This example is possibly later due to the loop lacking heavy corrosion.
