A Medieval copper-alloy oval framed buckle, dating to AD 1350-1400. The buckle consists of a oval frame, with a narrow offset bar, the pin and a recess for the leather strap. There are two diagonally extending prominent lobed knops, both plain in decorative details. The knops are flanking a recessed central section on the outer edge. This recessed section contains a 'roller' which is now missing. The pin remains and is oval in cross section, tapering to a point above the roller. The pin is bent around the recessed bar. Egan and Pritchard (1991) no 298. Length: 17.9 mm

An incomplete Medieval buckle plate, dating to c.AD 1200 - 1400. The buckle plate is rectangular in plan and section, at one end are two incomplete rectangular attachments, the opposing end has two circular rivet holes, one of these retains a cylindrical rivet. The front of the plate is decorated, due to wear, much of this decoration is obscured. The underside of the plate is undecorated. Length: 26.5 mm Width: 18.6 mm Weight: 3.46 g

An incomplete Roman copper-alloy buckle, dating to c.AD 300 - 410. Half of the buckle frame remains. Hawkes and Dunning Type IIA. The remaining fragment is C shaped in plan and semi-circular in section, it is formed of a dolphin with a gaping jaw. A large ring and dot motif forms the eve and a large fin covers the dolphins back. A Roman copper-alloy buckle, dating to c.AD 50 - 100. Hoss type A.1.b. The buckle is D-shaped in plan and rectangular in section. The buckle frame is minimally decorated with a moulded ridge either side of the pin rest and where the frame expands, the frame is narrowed at the pin rest. A Medieval copper-alloy zoomorphic buckle, dating to c.AD 1100 - 1300.  The copper alloy frame is oval. The remainder of the frame expands is irregular in  width as well as depth, it has with moulded decoration. This decoration consists of an oval frame, which is perforated with four holes, one of these retains a pin which is bent around the bar. The outer edges are angled so the inner perimeter is further forward than the outer perimeter. The projecting loop is circular and is perpendicular to the frame. The pin is missing. The loop is sub oval in plan, with a slightly thickened and expanded outside edge. The strap bar is narrowed and off-set. Knops are present at either end of the strap bar. The outside edge is slightly expanded, with two large angled knops flanking a central section with seven moulded transverse ridges. The integral plate is rectangular in plan with a circular hole to support the now missing pin. The plate terminates in an old worn break, it retains traces of gilding.
