Medieval (c. AD1200-1350) lead seal matrix of unusual crudity. It appears to have been roughly cut from a piece of sheet lead and lacks any handle or fittings. On one face is a lighly incised cross around which is a deeply incised inscription '+ S' RICI/ RVC'.Length 29.9mm, Width 16.3mm, Thickness 3.0mm, Mass, including sleeve, 9.48g. The crudity of this object is striking, and one can only speculate for whom, and why, it was made.

Medieval (c. AD1270-1450) core from a composite, copper alloy, strap end. This object was the spacer, originally separating two sheets of copper alloy, it represents a frame made up of a ring on which are two prongs, between which the end of the strap fitted with a terminal projection in the form of an elongated acorn. Egan and Pritchard (1991, Fig. 92, No. 651) illustrate similar strap end from London which came from context dating to c. AD1270-1450. Length 50.3mm, Width 20.6mm, Thickness 1.9mm, Mass 5.77g.

Medevial (c. AD1350-1450) thimble made from sheet copper alloy, what may be a braised joint line is visible on its inner surface. The thimble has a tapering body with a low conical top, it bears concentric rings of 1.0mm diameter, punched, hollows. This is an unusually large thimble suggesting that it was used by a man. Medevial or Post Medieval (c. AD1400-1650) ring-type thimble made from cast copper alloy. The thimble is in the form of a conic frustrum and bears oblique rows of 1.5mm diameter, drilled hollows. Diameter 16.7mm reducing to 14.7mm, Height 9.2mm, Thickness 1.7mm, Mass 4.29g. Ring thimbles are seen as being Medieval and of 15th century date but do seem to occur in later contexts (Margeson, 1993, Fig 139, No 1461, parallels in Amsterdam dating from th 16th -17th century are cited) suggesting that they continued in use in a specialist role.

Medieval (c. AD1400-1450) strap fitting consisting of the sheet copper alloy plate, slightly curved along its length, with traces of a rivet in each of its four corners. In its centre is a 3.6mm diameter hole which is indented to form a bevel. Length 35.0mm, Width 18.0mm, Thickness 1.8mm, Mass 5.20g. This plate may be compared with finds from London which came from contexts dated to c. AD1400-1450 (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, Fig. 123, No. 123 and Fig. 124).

Post Medieval (c. AD1500-1700) medallion from a German, stoneware, Bellermine (Bartmann) jug. The sherd has a mid-grey core with a buff interior, its outer surface is covered with a mottled, light brown glaze. The medalliion bears part of the figure of a lion rampant which can be paralleled by a find from Norwich (Jennings et. al. 'Eighteen Centuries of Pottery from Norwich, 1981, Fig. 49, No. 817, Fig. 50 No. 825) which was dated to the 16th to 17th century. Width 50.0mm, Height 34.5mm, Thickness 8.0mm, Mass 16.26g.

Possible traces of enamel survive within the chapleve panels forming the heraldic shield. This bears three vertical bars (pallets) crossed by an oblique (bar bend) which bears three displayed eagles. The colours are, alas, missing. Length 33.8mm, Width 28.5mm, Thickness 2.3mm, Mass 19.32g.

This is in the form of a low pyramid with slightly curved faces, at its apex is a 3.0mm diameter hole and, around its edge, is an incised line, aparently executed with a rocked tracer. 25.2 x 23.7mm x 8.2mm high, Wall section 1.6mm, Mass 7.28g. It is impossible to be sure of the function of this object, it may have been used on a belt or on harness but equally could have been fitted to a box or book.

Fragment of a Medieval (c. AD1350-1450) copper alloy strap end. This consists a trapezoid piece of sheet metal, truncated at one end, through it are two, 1.8mm diameter, holes, around its edge are two rows of incised triangles, set base to base to define a central band. On the underside of the plate are traces of a white, metal, probably solder suggesting that the plate formed part of a strap end, not a buckle plate, (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, Fig.48-49). Length 17.8mm, Width 12.0mm, Thickness 0.6mm, Mass 0.83g

Medieval to Post Medieval (c. AD1300-1700) cast copper alloy lid from a box for a set of cup-weights. Circular, slightly dished with four notches around its edge, on one edge is projection containing a slot forming a hasp, opposite is further projection on the underside of which is a perforated lug which formed part of a hinge by which the lid was attached to the copper alloy box. On the face of the lid is a ring of small ringed dots around its edge, the central area contains groups of ringed dots arranged in cross layout.
