Cast copper alloy 'strap fastener' or 'baldric hook' of late Iron Age date, c. 100BC-AD100. The fastener consists of a ring, with a 7.2mm diameter, circular section. On one face of this is a 9.7mm high, projecting stud with a waisted section topped by a 16.0mm diameter disc. Parallels for this object have been found at Camerton, Somerset (Jackson, 1990, 77, No. 81, pl 11) and Coleford, Gloucestershire (Stead, 2006, 180-181, No. 128, Fig. 82). Hollow, cast copper alloy mount dated to c. 1000-1100 and decorated in the Anglo-Scandinavian 'Urnes style'. The mount is in the form of an animal's head with a pointed nose and a broad forehead. The tip of the nose was decorated but corrosion now makes it difficult to see the details but it appears that the top of the nose was marked by a baluster moulding on either side of which was scroll motif. Cast lead object in the form of a human face of probable Medieval date, c. 1200-1500. The face shows a broad forehead and narrow eyes, the nose is now flattened and the mouth consists of a slit with thin lips. The hair is shown on the top of the head and cropped around the ears. Around the head is a narrow flange the edges of which appear cusped. On the back of the object is a 7.0mm deep, oval hollow. Pipe taper in the form of a claw hammer, probably of 19th century date. The hammer was attached to a handle by way of hollow socket the diameter of which expands down its length and is marked by a pattern of fine, circumferential, grooves. The hammer head and claw expand from a block the two faces of which bear recesses each containing two raised rings. There is a smaller, unmarked recess on the top of the head. The button is made from three components; a dished cover bearing the raised inscription, a flat backing plate, now corroded but bearing an inscription in impressed letters part of which reads ...GLAN...
