A cast copper-alloy brooch fragment, probably a headstud brooch of the early Roman period, late 1st-late2nd century. Only the head remains, and this is very corroded. The arms are rectangular in plan with worn vertical grooves. Only the base of the bow remains, with a very abraded break. It may have been decorated, but corrosion obscures interpretation. The base of a headloop is visible, though the loop has been lost. The reverse has tubular casing to take a hinge-pin.
