A cast lead cap, probably belonging to a gunpowder flask of Post-Medieval date, c. 1500-1850.
The cap can best be described a like a thimble, cylindrical in shape with a flat top and slightly expanding sides to the open base. A small cast integral loop positioned at the join between the top and the side has been flattened against the side. It has been distorted in shape.
