A complete post Medieval copper alloy uniface coin weight for an Angel, dating to 15th - 16th century. One side of the weight depicts St Michael with a halo over his head, with one leg straight and the other bent, spearing a dragon. The reverse side is undecorated.
The weight is 15.5mm in diameter, 3.2mm in thickness and weighs 4.2g (= 64 grains).
Similar coin weights can be found in Withers & Withers 2011, page 26. Withers & Withers state that the depiction of the angel with the right leg bend and left leg straight indicate these were not produced before 1493. (ibid). S…

An incomplete Medieval copper alloy bar mount dating to c. 1350 – c. 1400 AD. The mount is sub-oval in shape with two circular terminal lobes. One of the lobes is broken and the other complete with part of a rivet remaining in-situ. The central lobe has a hemispherical section and is convex. It is decorated with three transverse grooves. The reverse is concave. The mount has a dark green patina. It is 11.6mm in length, 6.9mm in width, 2.6mm in thickness, and weighs 0.6g.

Reverse: Blundered legend. Bird on cross with annulet at end of each horizontal arm, and small cross before bird.

An incomplete Early Medieval copper alloy and gilt saucer brooch dating to AD 450-550. The brooch is circular in form with a turned-up rim or edge. The edge is abraded with some cracks on the exterior. There is a pierced hole close to one edge of the plate. The brooch is decorated with five running spirals around a central ring and dot inside a circular border. An incomplete Roman copper alloy brooch possibly either a Colchester derivative (dolphin) or Polden Hill type dating to c. AD 43-100. The surviving brooch consists of the lower part of the wings with a pierced lug attached, and the bow. The upper section of the wings is missing. The bow is arched and D-shaped in cross-section. The bow ends in an old break and the foot is missing. The spring, catchplate and pin are also missing. The brooch has a dark green patina.
The brooch is 28mm in length, 25mm in width, and weighs 6.9g.

The fragment consists of a curved fraction of one side of the hoop attached to what is possibly a fraction of the shoulder or bezel. The fragment is D-shaped in cross-section. The scraper is irregularly shaped but with a long rounded edge. The scraper is plano-convex in shape. The ventral face is unworked with a large bulb of percussion. The dorsal face is worked with invasive scaled semi-abrupt retouch. The majority of the edge has short, scaled semi-abrupt retouch The flint is an opaque light white-grey with patches of cream white throughout.
The scraper is 29.1mm in length, 37mm in width, 7.7mm in thickness, and weighs 9.03g.

A Late Neolithic flint plano-convex knife dating to c.3300-2200 BC. The knife is opaque and grey-coloured, and sub-oval in shape. The distal end is the narrowest point and is slightly rounded. The dorsal face is flaked with short stepped semi-abrupt retouch on the surface. The edges have short stepped low angle retouch. The ventral face is smooth with the bulb of percussion at the proximal end.
The knife is 36mm in length, 17.5mm in width, 7.4mm in thickness, and weighs 4.22g.
