This is a cast copper-alloy support for a probable three-legged object, measuring XX cm from tip of the ears to the tail. It takes the form of a hybrid marine animal, with a griffin's head and dolphin-like sinuous body and tail. The griffin's head is rendered in some detail. A small eye is set high on the head behind the beak. There is a transverse moulding where the high forward-curving ears meet the head. Beneath the ears on both sides are two folds or flaps.
