Fragment of a Roman copper alloy trumpet brooch, likely dating to the 1st century AD. The fragment consists of a flared 'trumpet' head from which a truncated bow emanates. The bow includes a moulded knee. The head is ovate in form with a central raised pellet. There appears to be a break at the top of the head, possibly where a head loop would have once been attached. The reverse is plain, aside from a pair of cylindrical housings which would have held the spring mechanism. The pin is also no longer present. A post-medieval copper-alloy sword belt strap-fitting, dating between AD 1500 -1700. The plate is sub-triangular in shape and decorated in symmetrical foliate design present on the central stem and on four sub triangular projections. The plate is decorated with two rows of angled curvilinear lines that run down its length emanating from the central plate. A forward facing globular hook is present.
