The sides of the fitting expand from 15.5mm to 20.7mm. There are two openwork oblong slots with a hole beneath measuring 3.4mm in diameter.

A fragment of medieval gilded copper-alloy buckle consisting of the incomplete plate only, broken across a rivet hole 2.5mm in diameter. The plate has two rivet holes close to the opposite, crenellated, edge, which each measure 2.5mm in diameter. A zig-zag line flanks the edge. Where the gilding survives (in the grooves) it is thick.
