An incomplete medieval French copper alloy jetton struck under Charles VI and dating to c. AD 1385-1422, Shield of france modern / triple stranded cross fleuretty design. Michener (1988: 176) catalogues some very similar examples (Nos. 442a-445) and some others somewhat less well matched are listed in Saunders (2001: 233-234, 256), Nos. 125, 129 and 140. It appears double struck. About 75 per cent of the jetton survives, having lost about 15 percent from the bottom (below the obverse design) and a further 5-10 per cent from the top and top-left and right edges.
