An incomplete, Early Medieval, iron axehead from the 10th-11th century, AD.900-1100. The axe head is extremely corroded to a deep orange and brown colour. The socket of the axe is incomplete and the wooden haft is missing. It has a triangular or wedge shaped blade with a slight curve to the cutting edge. The blade of the axe projects downwards more than upwards from the center.
Axes of this type are typically known as Dane Axes, though they are a common weapon type used by English forces during the 10th-11th century. They are depicted on the Bayeux tapestry being wielded two handed…

An incomplete, possibly Roman - post medieval, copper alloy spoon, AD43-1700. The shallow circular bowl is 18.86mm in diameter and has a depth of 4.46. The stem has broken off leaving 19.92mm attached to the bowl. The handle is patterned with two parallel dotted lines that seperate when reaching the bowl of the spoon. Circular bowl spoons are common until the 17th century, this example is quite small and probably did not serve as cutlery. It is likely related to cosmetics or medicine, where the weighing and measuring of small quantities required smaller utensils.

An incomplete, Roman, folding knife handle of the 'hound and hare' type. AD 43-410. The original knife handle would have depicted an openwork hound chasing a hare. There is a hole piercing the remaining terminal that would have hinged the iron blade.The majority of the 'hound' is still present with its head and the 'hare' missing. What remains of the hound are the body and legs, these are set at an angle forming a triangular space beneath the hound. An incomplete, copper alloy, medieval, buckle plate AD1300-1450. A rectangular buckle plate, folded over the frame bar to form the front and back plates. There is a hole through the plate for the pin that is missing and a second piercing to accomodate a wire rivet. Only a fragment of the buckle frame remains attached to the pin bar. At the opposite end to the frame, just before the piercing for the rivet there is a double line of rouletting decoration.
