An incomplete Roman copper-alloy hinged developed T-shaped brooch, probably dating to c. AD 75-150. The lower half of the bow has been lost, along with the catch-plate, as has the pin. The upper half of the bow has been bent to one side as a result of old damage.
At the head of the brooch the wings survive largely complete to a width of 20.2 mm, though there is some damage visible to the lefhand wing at its tip. An incomplete Roman copper alloy brooch, probaby Colchester-derivative, possibly Polden Hill, probably dating to c. AD 50-150. The surviving portion comprises of the bow and catchplate, with the head and pin mechanism missing.
The bow is sub-rectangular in cross-section, terminating below the head in an old break and tapering into an unelaborated, rounded foot. The front of the bow is decorated with a pair of moulded channels separated by a central ridge, tapering towards the foot. A damaged, undecorated and unperforated sub-rectangular catchplate projects from the reverse.
